Council Members in Attendance: Rob Thomas, Nate Taverner, Pamela Sommer, Dave Shumpert, Amber Cecil, Roy Lantzy, Stacey Casteel, Roxene Tines, Steve Osborn

DHS: Kristi DeAnda, John Killen

Council Members Absent: Tim Martinez, Steven Karcher, John Rotharmel, Lyn Tausen, Lauren Tipton

Meeting Called to order: 7:40 AM

Opening Prayer: Commissioner Saine

October Minutes: Stacey C. motioned, Nate T. seconded; motion passed

History of WFPC – Rob Thomas

  • Old newsletter
  • Bylaws

DHS Update:

  • Meeting Tuesday – touch base on foster friendly
  • Plan strategic process
  • Have about 8 foster friendly churches in process or that have already completed foster friendly
  • Moving forward, Colorado Kids belong will be split into “zones”
  • South County, North County, Other areas of Colorado
  • Tracee - South county
  • Kristy – North County
  • Monthly meetings – Work meeting Phil with CKB
  • Holiday parties December 4th and 5th
  • Sign-up coming to council through email
  • Adoption day is coming and is open to the public; starting at 8 AM
  • Any adoptive family in Weld County can us the Post-adoptive resources through Weld County

Annual Award Update:

X2d and Baessler to sponsor awards.  Nominees: Teresa McClatchey – Community Resource Officer, Evans Police Department, Major and Cynthia Kintzley – JROTC/Weld County Toys for Tots, Commissioner Saine and Margie Martinez

New Business:

  • Sock donations to Pam
  • Baessler homes will sponsor the purchase of 400 coats
  •
