Duties/Responsibilities - The Weld County Workforce Development Board (WDB) is a business-led board, with a majority of its members representing the private sector. Additional members represent organized labor, community-based organizations, education, economic development entities, state agencies, and individuals with disabilities. The Board is charged with identifying regional workforce needs, developing and implementing strategies in response, and providing overall guidance and direction for the Weld County Workforce Center (WCWC). Together, members ensure alignment between workforce programs, employer needs, and community priorities.
Qualifications Needed - The Board seeks diverse and knowledgeable community leaders who are: • Business owners, Chief Executive Officers, or individuals with optimum policy-making or hiring authority. • Actively engaged in efforts that support workforce, education, or economic development in Weld County. • Committed to contributing their expertise and perspective to strengthen the local workforce system.
Time Commitment - Members can expect to contribute up to four hours per month.
• General Membership Meetings: Held in person on the second Tuesday of every other month at 11:45 a.m.
• Subcommittees: There are three active subcommittees that meet at various times throughout the year, with participation highly encouraged.
o Awareness Committee – Promotes community engagement, outreach, and workforce system visibility.
o Youth Committee – Focuses on supporting youth employment and training opportunities.
o Veteran Committee – Strengthens partnerships and programs serving veterans and their families.
• Additional engagement opportunities—such as special projects, community events, and recognition programs—are offered throughout the year.
