Council Members in Attendance: Rob Thomas, Nate Taverner, Margie Martinez, Lyn Tausan, Pamela Sommer , Steve Osborn, Dave Shumpert, Amber Cecil, Lauren Tipton, John Rotharmel, Steve Karcher,  Roy Lantzy, Stacey Casteel

DHS: Kristi DeAnda

Council Members Absent: Roxene Tines, Tim Martinez, Commissioner Saine

Meeting called to order: 7:40 AM

Opening Prayer: Dave S.

Newsletter volunteers for the rest of the year:

  • October - Steve
  • November Volunteer – Nate
  • December – Dave

August Minutes: Stacey C. motioned to accept, Steve O. 2nd , motion passed.

Commissioner Update: Commissioner Saine not in attendance - at another meeting – no updates this month

DHS Updates:

  • City Lights Respite Event that was on August 18th – Parents night out, Laser tag, Kids had a great time
  • Kind Connect – Realities for Children – Can sign up to receive notifications from DHS – Need someone to be a champion for this program – movement of items etc. Any ideas would be appreciated
  • Christmas parties for the Weld Faith Partnership Council newsletter
  • Amber sent Kristy’s recent newsletter to the council with sign-up link

Newsletter discussion:

  • It is currently managed and sent out by Rob Thomas and his church team – additionally they are covering the cost of Constant Contact to manage the list and send out monthly
  • Currently no link on County website to sign-up to receive

    Things to think about going forward (Newsletter):

  • Does it help share our purpose?
  • What should newsletter look like?
  • Should it go to a subcommittee?
  • Should it go back to the county?

Moving forward to 2025:

  • What are our goals for 2025?
  • Who will be our designated county commissioner?
  • Rob and Dave and possibly Kristy to set meeting with commissioner chair to set goals/direction to move forward
  • Council member terms

Legends of Service:

  • Discussion tabled until next meeting due to lack of time
  • Put on agenda for October
  • Think about nominations
