The Weld County Board of County Commissioners has adopted updates to Chapter 29 of the Weld County Code, modernizing building regulations for construction and development in unincorporated Weld County.  The changes take effect June 15, 2026.  The updates adopt the latest versions of several nationally recognized building and safety codes, including the 2024 International Building Code, International Residential Code, International Mechanical Code, International Plumbing Code, International Energy Conservation Code, and other related standards.

Weld County E-Permit Center

Learn more about the type of permits issued through Weld County Government, apply, pay for, and print your permit online via Accela, the E-Permit Center for Weld County. You will be asked to register for an account, which will allow you to do the following:

  • Apply for permits and some land use cases
  • Check the status of your applications and permits
  • Schedule inspections
  • Add a contractor license to your account
  • Edit contact information for your E-Permit Center account
