Weld County Administration Building (1150 O Street, Greeley)

  1. Call to Order. Committee Chair Wharton called the meeting to order at 3:08 p.m. Other committee members present were Jodi Hartmann, Cheryl Powell, Dean Moyer, Linda Hunt, Janet Meisel-Burns and A.J. Krieger. A quorum was present. The Committee welcomed Linda Hunt the newest appointed member to the group.

     

  2. Review of the minutes. Committee Chair Wharton asked for a review of the November 6, 2024, meeting minutes and if there were any amendments. Seeing none, Committee Member Powell made a motion to approve the minutes as presented and was seconded by Committee Member Hunt. The motion was unanimously approved.

     

  3. Election of Committee Chair and Vice-Chair positions. The Committee opened up the Chair nominations. Committee member Powell made a motion seconded by Committee member Moyer to nominate Nick Wharton as Committee Chair. Committee member Wharton accepted the nomination, and the motion was unanimously approved. The Committee opened up the Vice-Chair nominations. Committee member Hartmann made a motion seconded by Committee member Powell to nominate Dean Moyer as Committee Vice-Chair. Committee member Moyer accepted the nomination, and the motion was unanimously approved.

     

  4. Status report on current projects (see spreadsheet). Ms. Martin gave an update on the current project list and shared photos.

     

  5. Staff presented the 2025 applications list to the Committee. We received 8 applications totaling more than $2.5M in requests. Two new communities, Nunn and Lochbuie, have submitted first time applications this grant cycle. The Committee went through the list and asked questions about the projects but will further discuss funding at the April Committee meeting.

     

  6. Other business items to discuss. Staff mentioned an upcoming meeting with our HUD representative to discuss the next consolidated five-year plan program schedule. Staff reminded the Committee that next month’s meeting will be in the Events room to hear the presentations from the applicants.

     

  7. The CDBG Advisory Committee meeting adjourned at 4:03 p.m.
