The Weld County Board of Commissioners awarded two PABs on June 30, 2025.
Big Red Development LLC received $7,692,568 to develop a 129-unit affordable housing complex in Firestone to house approximately 300 low- and moderate-income residents. The development will be a mix of one, two, and three bedroom apartments in three buildings with adequate community amenities, open space, an outdoor playground and dedicated street parking. This project will create 69 construction jobs and is expected to be complete in August of 2027.
Kentro Group, in partnership with the Town of Johnstown, received $3,954,897 to develop Waggoner Crossing, a 135-unit affordable apartment complex. Four buildings will contain one, two, and three bedroom apartments with amenities including a community room, exercise room, playground, bike storage, on-site manager, and a picnic and barbecue area. The project is expected to generate 141 jobs during construction and be complete by January of 2028.
