The Weld County Board of Health met on October 24, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. in the second-floor hearing room of the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment and by via Microsoft Teams.

Those present included:

Board Members: Doug Printz, Lonnie Ford, Linda Kautz, Bree Lukens, and Jeff Reck.

Others: Katie Sall and Lauren Light from Environmental Health, Jason Chessher, Executive Director, Weld County Department of Public Health & Environment, Darci Hata, Clinical Outreach Coordinator, Clinical and Community Health, Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment.

APPROVAL OF AGENDA
The meeting was called to order at 9:00 AM. A motion was made by Lonnie Ford to approve the agenda. Doug Printz seconded the motion, and the motion was carried unanimously.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The board approved the minutes of the September 26, 2023, meeting. A motion was made to approve by Linda Kautz and Doug Printz seconded the motion and the motion was carried unanimously.

ADMINISTRATIVE REPORT: Jason Chessher reported that 2024 budget was presented to board of county commissioners, it is almost like last year minus covid 2022 & 2024 budget difference is the money related to covid. Human Resources will be conducting a nationwide job survey to make sure that Weld County pay is comparative to other counties. A proposal was also presented for bilingual employees in the county to receive a pay incentive for their bilingual services, about 50% of our clients are Spanish speaking and our clinical staff assist them.

Biosolids Renewal:

Metro Water Recovery - Katie Sall Presented 1 biosolid renewal application. No public comment or concerns were received. Environmental Health recommends approval. DS-20616

Denali Water Solutions - Katie Sall presented 11 biosolid renewal applications. No public comment or concerns were received. Environmental Health recommends approval. DS-200104, DS-200418, DS-200548, D5-200635, DS-200640, DS-201209, DS-201320, DS-201322, DS-201325, DS-1900008, and D51900009.

A motion was made by Linda Kautz to approval the renewals. Doug Printz seconded the motion, and the motion was carried unanimously.

Presentations:

Darci Hata, Clinical Outreach Coordinator - Clinical and Community Health, Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment- Darci talked about Weld County Clinical outreach.

July 2022, we began expanding our outreach services.

Our outreach team is made up of Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Medical Assistants, Nursing Students, and Administrative Staff who are highly trained and experienced professionals dedicated to providing the best care possible.

Services that we offer include Immunizations such as Tdap, Flu, and Covid 19 as well as STI testing Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, Syphilis, HIV, and Hepatitis C.

Employers or other large groups can request a clinic, so far 38 requests have come thru since July 2023.

Our community partners are Aims Community College, UNC, Housing Navigation Center, Weld County Jail, Weld County Work Release, ICCS, Weld Food Bank, North Range Behavioral Health (including WINGS, True North, and Frontier House,) Public Libraries, Schools, and Recreation Centers.

The locations we service include Dacono, Eaton, Ft Lupton, Greeley, Johnstown, Keenesburg, Kersey, Lochbuie, Milliken and Windsor.

Year 2022 we did 51 clinics, 242 Tdap, 380 Covid-19, 694 STI tests and made 33 appointments, Year 2023 we have done 96 clinics to date, 237 Tdap, 351 Flu, 7 Covid-19, 1,262 STI tests, and made 45 appointments.

Lauren Light thanked all the board members for showing up to BOH meeting and asked if they had any special requests for future presentations.
