Area Agency on Aging Volunteer Opportunities
Weld County Area Agency on Aging (AAA) responds to the needs of older adults (60+) and their family caregivers in the communities they serve through advocacy, funding, direct service, planning, and education. AAA works with public, private partners, and volunteers to respond to the unique needs in their communities and make a difference in the lives of older adults across Colorado.
There are multiple opportunities to volunteer for the Weld County Area Agency on Aging:
Senior Lunch Program
The Senior Lunch Program, also called the Friendly Fork, serves tasty, healthy lunches for older adults at 22 locations across Weld County. Many meal sites also offer activities before or after lunch to give you a chance to connect with others and enjoy social time.
Around 300 volunteers give over 20,000 hours each year to help keep the Senior Lunch Program running strong. Your support makes a big difference for the Area Agency on Aging and the Friendly Fork. From helping in the kitchen to assisting with office tasks, volunteers are involved in every part of what we do. Whether you're setting up, serving meals, cleaning up, or helping behind the scenes, your efforts are deeply appreciated.

Weld Aging Well
Do you enjoy teaching or leading groups? We’re looking for volunteers to lead Weld Aging Well Program evidence-based classes that support the health and well-being of older adults in Weld County. Training is provided — no prior experience needed!
These classes cover topics like:
- Fall Prevention
- Active Living
- Self Management
- Caregiver Support
Training and certification are provided at no cost to you, but they do require a financial investment from our agency. Because of this, we ask volunteers to commit to teaching at least one full class per year after becoming certified.
If you're ready to make a difference and can commit to this important role, contact the Wellness Coordinator.

Area Agency on Aging Advisory Board
The Advisory Board plays a crucial role in providing insightful feedback on issues related to healthcare, transportation, and housing needs. Additionally, members suggest ideas for service enhancements, participate in public hearings, focus groups, and contribute to the development of the four-year plan, as well as other agency activities and events. Involvement is crucial in making a positive impact on the well-being of older adults in our community. Serve in an advisory capacity to the Area Agency on Aging (AAA), actively contributing to the planning, coordination, and monitoring of Older Americans Act programs. We encourage individuals passionate about this cause to step forward and contribute to the success of the AAA Advisory Board.
