Weld County Workforce Center offers programs to help youth and adults build skills, find jobs, and plan for the future.

  • Youth Work Program helps young people with career planning, paid work experience, finishing school or getting a GED, and training for college or jobs.
  • Chafee Program helps young adults who have been in foster care learn life skills, set goals, and become more independent through workshops, field trips, and one-on-one support. More information available on on the Foster Care page.
  • Adult Work Program supports adults in improving job skills, finding work, and getting help with training, career coaching, and job searching.
  • TAA helps workers who lost their jobs or had their hours or wages reduced because of foreign trade.

All of these programs are here to help people gain confidence, learn new skills, and take the next step toward a successful career.

Veterans receive priority of service.

Youth Work Programs

We can help you get ready for a career by offering support with education, training, and job opportunities. If you qualify, you can get help finding a job or internship, career counseling, and one-on-one support from a Youth Navigator.

The program also offers paid work experience, help finding summer jobs, help finishing high school or getting your GED, and support with college or job training programs. You’ll also learn important life skills, build leadership abilities, and create a plan for your future. We are here to help you take the next step toward a successful career.

Eligibility:

  • Between 14 and 24 years old
  • You may also need to meet at least one of the following:
    • Have trouble with reading, writing, or math
    • Left school before graduating (dropped out)
    • Have been involved with the justice system (an offender)
    • Are homeless or don’t have a stable place to live
    • Are or were in foster care
    • Are pregnant or a parent
    • Have a disability
    • Getting TANF or SNAP (food stamps)
    • Low income 

Adult Work Program

The Adult Work Program helps adults get ready for work, learn new skills, and find good jobs. You can get free help with writing a resume, practicing for interviews, and searching for jobs. The program also offers training for careers that are in high demand, paid work experience, and support for short classes or certifications. A career coach will work with you one-on-one to make a plan that fits your goals. Veterans receive priority of service.

Eligibility

  • Age 18 to 72
  • Allowed to work in the U.S.
  • Registered for Selective Service, if required 

Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) Program

The Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) Program helps workers who lost their jobs or had their hours or wages reduced because of foreign trade. If your job was affected by increased imports or your company moved work to another country, this program may be able to help.

Eligibility

  • lost your job or had your hours/wages cut because of foreign trade (like increased imports or your company moving work overseas)
  • Employer has been certified by the U.S. Department of Labor as being affected by trade
  • Apply within the required time limits (TAA has strict deadlines)
