Child Protection
Child Protection Intake:
The Child Protection Intake Unit is responsible for investigating allegations of abuse or neglect of children from birth until the age of 18.
Child Welfare works with families to assure safety, permanency and wellbeing for children and youth. Assess family, child, and youth needs to provide appropriate referrals for services in an effort to strengthen families and minimize harm to children.
Child Protection Ongoing:
Promotes safety, permanency and well-being for children and youth by working with families to create a family plan with clear objectives, action steps and outcomes to facilitate reunification and prevent future out of home placement and ongoing child protection involvement.
Report Abuse:
The Screening Department is responsible for taking reports of alleged child abuse and neglect.
All reports made to the Department are confidential including the name of the party who reports the alleged abuse or neglect. Colorado Law protects people from liability if they make a report in good faith.
