Information on parentage, getting a child support order, and calculating support payment amounts.
Establishing parentage is the process for determining a child’s legal father. Fatherhood must be legally recognized to get a child support order. Genetic testing may be done to help determine parentage. See Colorado Child Support Parentage for more information.
Child Support Services can help establish an order to pay child support through administrative process or by court action. See Colorado Child Support Establishing Support for more information.
Child Support Services can help find a non-custodial parent using local, state, and federal resources.
To figure out how much child support a parent needs to pay, Child Support Services or the court uses the Colorado Child Support Calculator. Both parties must show proof of their income and share their most recent tax returns.
