Post-Adoption Resources

Helping Families Stay Strong

Weld County offers programs to support families who have adopted, as well as foster parents, kinship caregivers, and child care providers. Whether you're facing challenges or just looking for connection, we’re here to help.

Our services focus on building strong, healthy relationships and helping children heal from tough experiences. We use trauma-informed approaches like Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®) to give caregivers tools that work.

Through support, training, and connection with others who understand, we help families stay strong and children feel safe and supported.

Family Forever: Post-Adoption Support

Family Forever is Weld County’s post-adoption support program. It offers a safe, supportive space for adoptive families to talk about challenges, get help, and find resources that strengthen their family.

The primary goal of Family Forever is to preserve permanency for children who have been adopted and to ensure the well-being of all members of the household. We focus on providing trauma-informed resources to help families navigate changes in behavior, emotional needs, family dynamics, and more.

Who can participate?

  • Families who adopted through any type of adoption and live in Weld County
  • Families who adopted through Weld County’s child welfare system but now live elsewhere

Services include:

  • In-home, phone, or email support
  • Case management
  •  A resource lending library
  •  Training opportunities
  • Referrals to helpful community programs

Participation is voluntary, and families can reach out at any time—even if they didn’t ask for help right away.

TBRI Caregiver Training

TBRI is an attachment focused, evidence based parenting and intervention model. It is a trauma-informed intervention that is specifically designed for parents and caregivers of children who come for "hard places," such as maltreatment, abuse, neglect, multiple home placements and/or violence, but is an approach that can be used by parents and caregivers with all children.
