County Campus Detour Routes

Numerous construction projects are underway around the Weld County government campus, which require alternate routes for those traveling to Weld County buildings located around N. 17th Avenue, H Street, and O Street in Greeley. These buildings include the Weld County Administration Building, the Clerk and Recorder’s Office, the Department of Public Health and Environment, the Sheriff's Office, and others. Please see the information below regarding detour routes to be aware of to safely reach your county destination.

Parking lot renovation - WC Department of Public Health and Environment, Sheriff’s Office and Weld County Jail

The county is making improvements, including repaving, to the parking lots at the Health Department, the Sheriff's Office Administration Building, and the Weld County jail. The estimated timeline for this project is April through November 2026; the project will be done in phases. Please know, dates are subject to change (e.g. weather).

Estimated project timeline

Health Department parking lot: April 6 to April 27

Sheriff’s Office parking lot: April 27 to May 26

East Jail parking lot: May 25 to July 2

Southeast Jail parking lot: July 2 to July 30

Southwest Jail parking lot: July 31 to Sept. 4

West Jail parking lot: Sept. 2 to Oct. 28

How to get here

If you're coming from Greeley south of the Poudre River, take 35th Avenue north then go east on O Street and follow posted detour signs to the open parking areas during each phase. Each of these offices will remain open during this time.

11th Avenue and H Street Closure

The intersection of 11th Avenue and H Street will be closed Until April 30, while the City of Greeley performs sewer infrastructure improvements. Those with questions about the project can reach out to the City of Greeley at (970) 350-9811.

The easiest way to get to the county's north Greeley campus, including the Weld County Administration Building, the Clerk and Recorder's Office, the Assessor's Office, the Planning Department, and the Treasurer and Public Trustee's Office is to go north on 35th Avenue then east on O Street

Otherwise, if your usual route takes you through the intersection of 11th Avenue and H Street, please use one of the following detour options: 

  • O Street to the north
  • 2nd Street to the south
  • N. 25th Avenue to the west
  • 8th Avenue to the east

59th Avenue and O Street Roundabout

A project to build a roundabout at the intersection is underway and is anticipated to be complete by June 26.
