Friendly Fork dinners start Tuesday, June 3

Friendly Fork, Weld County’s Senior Nutrition Program, is rolling out Tuesday night dinners for the summer in Platteville. Starting June 3 and going through Aug. 12, the Platteville Senior Center is the place to be for great food and good company for adults 60 or older. Commissioner Scott James holds office hours on June 13

Swing by our southwest Weld office if you’re in the area to chat with Commissioner Scott James during his office hours on Friday, June 13. Walk-ins are welcome between 9 a.m. and noon, no appointment necessary. Location: 4209 County Rd 24 1/2, Longmont, CO 80504. James will be in Small Conference Room B.

Board of commissioners recently met with EPA

The board of commissioners met with their Region 8 representative from the Environmental Protection agency (EPA) to discuss Weld County’s work in the realm of air quality. Commissioners continue to invest resources in local air monitoring, data collection and review, and information sharing with county residents through the air.weld.gov website. The conversation, which included staff from both agencies, was productive in addressing local questions and concerns.

Redistricting Advisory Committee meetings

The 2025 Redistricting Advisory Committee is meeting every Thursday (through June 26) from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Weld County Administration Building, located at 1150 O St. in Greeley. The public is welcome to attend and listen as well as provide public input via the form provided on the redistricting webpage. This committee is tasked with creating three new commissioner district maps for review and approval later this summer.
