Common pesticides include: herbicide (targets plants), insecticide (targets insects), rodenticide (targets rodents), fungicide (targets fungus), miticide (targets mites and ticks), bactericide or sanitizer or disinfectant (targets bacteria), molluscicide (targets slugs and snails) and nematicide (targets nematodes).

Spraying helicopter over trees There is a lot of concern about the safety of pesticides in our environment. The biggest component with all pesticides is the end user. The applicant, typically a home owner, needs to use the product according to label directions. If the product is not applied correctly, issues may arise. Cost Share Information

Weld County Weed Division offers multiple cost-share opportunities for noxious weed control.  All programs are paid out as receipts come in. When the funds are gone, the program is over for the year.

ATV Sprayer Cost-share money can only be used in range and pasture settings and in fallow farm ground. One cost-share program per landowner. All cost-share programs cover the cost of chemical and commercial application, if hired out. The commercial application must be done by a CO Dept. of Agriculture Commercial Operator licensed applicator.

General noxious weed suppression cost-share is at 50% up to $600. Some programs may offer more from time to time. Certain noxious weeds set for eradication have cost-share money at 80% up to $1200.
