Monday, by way of a four-to-one vote, the Weld County Board of Commissioners approved the 2025 budget on first reading. Before the budget is officially approved, it will be considered at two more readings. The readings will be part of regular board meetings, held in the Centennial Hearing Room of the Weld County Administration Building, located at 1150 O St. in Greeley.

Second reading: Monday, Nov. 18 at 9 a.m.

Third reading: Monday, Dec. 2 at 9 a.m.

The consideration of the budget through a three-reading process follows months of work and many public work sessions involving the county’s finance team, department supervisors and board of commissioners to review budget requests, needs and projects for next year. Additionally, the presentations made by department supervisors during work sessions highlighted efficiencies and cost-reduction measures for the board to consider with regard to the budget.
