In one of its first steps toward preparing for the coming year, the Weld County Board of Commissioners will formally consider the 2026 budget for approval during a three-reading process starting in November. The readings will be part of regular board meetings, held in the Centennial Hearing Room of the Weld County Administration Building, located at 1150 O St. in Greeley.

This is the second consecutive year the budget has been considered during a three-reading process and follows extensive work by the county’s finance team and departments to prepare and review budget requests. Each department’s budget was first presented to the board in work sessions in July.
“The work sessions provide a close-up view of departments’ needs going forward as we collectively work to serve a growing county,” said Perry Buck, Weld County Commissioner Chair. “Considering the budget during a three-reading process allows an opportunity for public input as well as final adjustments, if needed, as we move forward in 2026, continuing our mission of providing responsive, innovative and cost-effective service.”
The work sessions were just one step of many, as the county’s finance team continued reviewing departmental requests and preparing recommendations for the board to consider.
