Crisis24 to serve as emergency notification system for residents

As the county continues to examine options regarding a possible new emergency alert notification system, it wants residents to know that Crisis24, which owns the CodeRED system, has successfully transferred subscriber data into their Crisis24 platform and can resume sending emergency alerts to area residents when requested by local law enforcement agencies.

On Nov. 11, 2025, the Weld County Public Safety Communications Department was alerted by CodeRED, the provider Weld County contracts with for emergency alerts, that they had pulled their system offline the day before (11/10/25) due to concerns from their information technology department.

Upon that notification, Weld County relied on its long-standing agreement with the Larimer Emergency Telephone Authority (LETA) to serve as a back-up for Weld County should an emergency alert need to be sent to Weld County residents.

Since that date, Weld County officials have been considering alternative options to notify residents of emergencies. While those discussions continue, Crisis24 notified the county that all user data registered in the system (landlines and subscriber submitted cell phone numbers) as of March of 2025 has successfully been integrated into their platform and the county can resume use for emergency notifications.

The county will still rely on LETA to assist with some notifications, specifically notifications that need to be sent through IPAWS (Integrated Public Alert & Warning System; these alerts hit all cell phones in a determined area).

While this may not be the final solution for Weld County regarding emergency alerts, it is a positive move forward with regard sharing emergency communications with residents.

In the meantime, if residents would like to enter their cell phone information into the system to receive emergency alerts, they can do so at https://accountportal.onsolve.net/weldcountyco.
