The Young Adult Job Fair (YAJF) will return to Greeley on Wednesday, March 12, at the Island Grove Event Center (501 N. 14th Ave.) from 5 to 7 p.m. This free, annual event, organized collaboratively by Employment Services of Weld County (ESWC) and the City of Greeley, is catered to young adults ages 14 to 24, who are looking for long- and short-term employment.

Job seekers can expect to meet with local employers from a variety of industries looking for bright, young talent; get a professional headshot taken; work with employment professionals to craft the perfect resume; and more.

Leslie Galindo, ESWC Youth Employment and Training Navigator said the network opportunities provided by the YAJF are important, particularly ahead of a busy hiring season.

“Employers have started hiring for their summer staff,” she said. “So meeting young adults at this job fair allows them to schedule an interview during spring break and get them onboarded and trained for the start of summer.”

Employers representing the manufacturing, health care, government, nonprofit and recreation industries will be in attendance, to name a few. In 2024, over 600 job seekers attended the YAJF, making it an invaluable opportunity for businesses seeking to enhance their workforce.

“Hiring young adults brings several advantages to businesses,” said Efrain Cano, ESWC Business Services Representative. “Young adults offer fresh perspectives, adaptability and a strong willingness to learn. Many young workers are tech-savvy, energetic, and open to new challenges, making them valuable assets in fast-paced and evolving industries. Additionally, hiring young employees helps companies build a pipeline of future leaders and fosters a diverse and dynamic workplace.”

Young adults planning to attend can begin registration at www.connectingcolorado.com. To ensure a successful experience, job seekers are encouraged to bring several copies of their resume, dress professionally and make sure to have their social security number handy for quick day-of registration.
