2026 State of the County address scheduled for Oct. 8

The Weld County Board of Commissioners will host its 2026 State of the County address at the Aims Community College Welcome Center on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026, from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. The public is invited to attend and hear updates from the commissioners regarding current projects and future goals.

This year’s theme for the public address is Rooted in History. Ready for Tomorrow.

“This event has proven to be a great way to connect with residents and provide information about projects the county is working on while highlighting how those projects will positively impact residents and businesses,” said Commissioner Chair Scott James. “There’s a lot happening at the county level, and we are excited to share updates on what we have been working on.”

In addition to departmental updates, the board will also provide updates on the progress of the new Weld County Justice Center.

In a new feature this year, the board is asking Weld County residents to submit questions they have about county government prior to the event. Commissioners will respond to several of those questions during the address.

“We wanted this year’s event to be more engaging by including an opportunity for residents to submit questions about county projects and county government in general,” said James.

To send a question to the commissioners, residents should submit the county form by the end of the day Sept. 30.
