The Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment (WCDPHE) invites residents to celebrate 30 years of the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Program during an open house Saturday, Sept. 19, at the HHW facility in Dacono.

For 30 years, the HHW Program has helped Weld County residents safely dispose of household chemicals and other hazardous materials. This has kept dangerous materials out of landfills, waterways and communities while giving residents a safe and convenient disposal option.

“The Household Hazardous Waste Program has provided this service to the people in south county and Dacono for 30 years now and has made such a lasting impact in Weld County,” said WCDPHE Director Jason Chessher. “Reaching 30 years is an incredible milestone for any program.”

Residents are invited to stop by the open house from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to celebrate the program’s anniversary and learn more about the services available through Weld County’s Household Hazardous Waste Program.
