Air Quality Program

Facilitated through a contract with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, which provides authority and funding to enforce state air quality regulations, the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment's Air Quality Program conducts inspections of stationary sources of air pollution, actively responds to air quality complaints, and issues open burning permits in Weld County to protect public health and the natural environment. Outside of this contact work, Weld County manages an air monitoring network, provides information on indoor and outdoor air quality, and actively participates in air quality planning and policy development at the state and federal levels.
