November is National Diabetes Awareness Month

According to the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment’s 2019 Community Health Survey, 10.1% or about 1 in 10 adult residents reported they were ever diagnosed with diabetes by a health care professional. That equates to about 19,500 adults in Weld County.

COVID-19 Dashboard: Unvaccinated Case Rate 5X Higher than Vaccinated

A new “breakthrough case” tab on the COVID-19 Data Dashboard shows a comparison of fully vaccinated versus unvaccinated cases in the ages 12(+) category for Weld County residents. As of September 17, 2021, the rate of unvaccinated people getting COVID-19 in Weld County is nearly five times higher compared to the fully vaccinated population.

Health Department Lab Offers Free Lead Testing for Well Water

The Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment Laboratory is providing Weld County residents whose main source of drinking water is well water the opportunity to have their water tested for lead at no charge. To qualify, the home must have been built prior to 1988 and have either lead pipes, brass fixtures, or lead connectors (solder) in its water system.

Youth Ages 12-15 Now Eligible for Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine

COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic Opens at Weld County Clerk and Recorder

The Weld County Health Department with support from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has opened a COVID vaccination clinic at the new Weld County Clerk and Recorder building, 1250 H Street in Greeley. The clinic operates from 8:30 a.m. - 6:10 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays; 12:30-4:30 p.m. on Wednesdays; and 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. on Saturdays.

Driver Distraction Remains a Growing Factor in Traffic Crashes

COVID-19 Vaccine Phase 2 starts Friday
