About

Addressing the health and wellness needs of Weld County

To meet the growing and diverse needs of our community, Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment launched the Public Health Mobile Unit in 2025. The idea for a mobile health service was born out of a clear need: many residents in rural areas and underserved neighborhoods face barriers to accessing essential care. Over the past year, our team has worked diligently to plan, design, and equip a mobile unit that brings services directly to the community.

The unit is designed to serve as a mobile extension of our public health clinics, increasing access to preventative care, health education, and outreach for populations that might otherwise go without. The launch of this unit reflects our commitment to delivering equitable care and meeting residents where they are.

Whether it's offering vaccinations, STI testing, maternal and child health services, or health screenings, our Mobile Unit is a flexible, responsive tool that allows us to be more present, more connected, and more impactful across Weld County.

The goals of the Mobile Unit are to:

  • Increase access to essential health services in Weld County’s rural and hard-to-reach communities
  • Provide targeted outreach and care for populations at higher risk of negative health outcomes
  • Ensure our most vulnerable residents have access to timely, preventative, and routine care—regardless of location or circumstance
  • Strengthen partnerships with local organizations, schools, and businesses to expand the Mobile Unit’s reach and impact
  • Build trust in public health by showing up consistently, listening to community needs, and delivering high-quality care
