The SNAP program helps low-income people buy food. Each month, families and individuals get money to buy healthy food. They can double their benefits at stores that take part in the Double Up Food Bucks program.

Who Can Apply?

You may qualify if you:

  • Make low wages
  • Have income below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL)
  • Are unemployed or work part-time
  • Get other help like Colorado Works or SSI
  • Are a child
  • Are a student
  • Are an adult (18–54) with no kids at home (called ABAWDs)

You can also use the pre-screening tool on the Colorado PEAK website to see if you quality. 
Your local library usually has computer you can use.

Your Interview

You will be contacted by our office within seven (7) days from the date you submitted your application to complete your interview. If you don't hear from us, please contact us at (970) 400-6013 to schedule your appointment. Most interviews will be completed by phone, there is an option to complete it in person, depending on your situation. Referrals to the Employment First Program happens at the interview.

Once your interview is completed and all required verification received, you're application will be processed and you will be notified by mail of your eligibility. If you have questions regarding your eligibility, call us at (970) 400-6012 to speak to someone.

You will receive a notice in the mail about your eligibility.

Employment First

Employment First is a program that helps people who get SNAP learn new skills, find jobs, and become more independent.  If you qualify, you can get help with job training, school, and work experience. The program also helps you set goals and get support from people in your community.

How to Apply:

  • Employment First is a referral-only program.
  • To be referred, you must first apply for SNAP.

Not Eligible

If you are not eligible for food benefits, and you feel you have been denied in error, you may request a local County Conference or a State Fair Hearing. 

Information regarding your rights is included in the notice mailed to you. 

Your Right to Appeal

Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) Program

SNAP funds go on a card called the Colorado Quest card. Cash benefits can also go on the card, into a bank account, or onto a prepaid card through direct deposit.

A card can be issued in the following ways:

  • Request an EBT mail-out at any office location
  •  Call the EBT vendor at (888) 328-2656
  • Pick up a card in person at the following locations:
    • Greeley
    • Fort Lupton
