2026 marks three big milestones — the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, 150th anniversary of Colorado's establishment, and 165th anniversary of Weld County's establishment. See information on each commemoration and how to get involved.

The Board of County Commissioners had the honor of recognizing outgoing Weld County Assessor Chris Woodruff, who just last week was named 2018 Assessor of the Year by his colleagues at the state’s Assessors Conference in Colorado Springs.
Woodruff, who is leaving the elected office he held for the past three terms, was praised by his fellow county assessors for:
Weld County has been so fortunate to have had you at the helm of the assessor’s office,” said Commissioner Chair Steve Moreno. “There really is no way to adequately put into words how much your professionalism, integrity and dedication have meant to the residents of Weld County.”
During Woodruff’s time at Weld County, the assessed value of the county rose from $4.4 billion to $11.7 billion.
