County's CDBG program requests community input on project ideas

Published on February 24, 2025

Does your community have needs that could benefit from Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds? Perhaps neighborhood improvement projects such as ADA accessible sidewalks, improved transportation options, or home repairs for a specific neighborhood? As part of the Weld County CDBG program, we’re giving residents a chance to share their project ideas as the program continues to grow and evolve.

Past projects that benefited from CDBG funds include:

  • 60+ Ride operating expenses for a wheelchair accessible van
  • Sidewalk improvements in Keenesburg
  • ADA ramp replacements / upgrades in Eaton
  • Pierce Senior Center improvements
  • Platteville Park playground enhancements
  • Firestone housing rebab program

Public input for project ideas will be accepted at a public hearing held at 9 a.m. on March 5, 2025, at the Weld County Administration Building, 1150 O St. in Greeley. To be considered, projects must focus on: Community development and housing needs, including the needs of low- and moderate-income persons, as well as other needs in the community that might be addressed through the CDBG program.

If you cannot attend the public hearing, written comments are also welcome and must be received by 5 p.m. on March 4, 2025. You can send comments via email to erelford@weld.gov or mail comments to Office of the Clerk to the Board, 1150 O St., Greeley, CO, 80631. Comments should include the following information:

  • Your name.
  • What town you live in.
  • What community improvements are needed.
  • If the need was met, how would this improve your community?
  • What do you think about the community improvement projects currently being completed?
