Public invited to the second annual State of the County event Oct. 7
Published on September 09, 2025
From the announcement of a new judicial center and investments in our regional airport to our award-winning programs aimed at better serving residents, 2025 is an exciting year for Weld County!
That’s why the Weld County Commissioners are inviting the public to join them for the second annual State of the County event. This event, which will be held at the Aims Community College Welcome Center in Greeley on Oct. 7, from 5 to 7 p.m., will not only showcase Weld County equipment and information but also provide an opportunity for commissioners to share updates on exciting projects county government is working on.
“Last year’s event was a success and allowed the county to provide updates to our residents,” said Weld County Commissioner Chair Perry Buck. “This year, we moved the event to the evening in hopes of making it easier for more residents to come and learn what county government is doing for them.”
During the event, the public will be able to get up close to and learn about the county’s fleet, including patrol vehicles, the mobile health unit, and the county’s Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) snow plows; see some of the county’s drones used for noxious weed management; pick up useful information about county services; and even take a photo with and get information about Weld County’s own “rock” star, Pops the Triceratops.
The presentation by the county commissioners will begin at 6 p.m. and will highlight how the county, through its programs and services, is focused on its mission statement to lead with responsive, innovative, and cost-effective services for county residents.
RSVPs to the event are not required but are appreciated to ensure there are enough light refreshments for everyone.
