Passports

The Weld County Recording Department accepts passport applications on behalf of the U.S Department of State for any U.S. citizen. Our office is a passport acceptance facility only. 

We cannot accept renewals, children under the age of 16 are not eligible to renew their passport; they have to apply for a new passport.

The Weld County Recording Office accepts applications Monday thru Thursday by appointment only at the Greeley office located at:

What to bring

Prior to your appointment, please complete the DS-11 form online for each applicant. Applications must be printed as a full size image on single-sided 8.5x11 inch sheets of paper. Printed applications must be filled out with black ink. Please do not sign the application. Applications cannot have any alterations, if you make a mistake you must complete a new form.

Other items needed to process your passport application include: a photograph of the applicant (we offer passport photography services onsite for a fee of $15), proof of citizenshipproof of parental relationship (if the applicant is 16 or under), and photo identification.

Fees

There are two separate fees. The application fee gets sent with the application and needs to be a check or money order, payable to the US Department of State. Temporary or counter checks are not acceptable forms of payment to the US Department of State. Each application needs a separate check  or money order.

The execution/processing fee of $35 is payable to Weld County Clerk and Recorder by cash, check, money order or credit card.  An additional $15 can be added to that fee if a photo is needed.
