The Weld County Area Agency on Aging (AAA) helps older adults stay healthy, independent, and connected in their homes and communities. Through partnerships with local organizations, we offer services like meals, caregiver support, wellness programs, and more. AAA is part of the Department of Human Services and supports aging adults across the county.

The Information and Assistance program connects older adults and their families with services and support available in Weld County.

Aging and Disability Resources for Colorado (ADRC) program helps people age 60 and older or anyone 18 and older with a disability find care options. An Options Counselor can guide you through your choices, such as getting help at home, using community services, or moving to a facility. The goal is to give you all the facts so you can choose what’s best for you.

Senior Lunch Programs

Friendly Fork

The Senior Lunch Program, also called the Friendly Fork, serves tasty, healthy lunches for older adults at 22 locations across Weld County. Many meal sites also offer activities before or after lunch to give you a chance to connect with others and enjoy social time.

Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels Greeley and Weld County provides specially prepared, nutritious meals are delivered to the home five days per week.

Nutrition Education and Counseling

Nutrition counseling to individuals 60 years of age and older. For an opportunity to speak 1-on-1 with a nutrition expert about your eating habits and health goals. You will learn about healthy food choices and receive ideas on how to prepare nutritious meals on a budget.

Group nutrition education classes and discussions are also offered free of charge at our meal site locations. Friendly Fork nutrition education covers many different topics, such as diabetes, healthy muscles and bones, and hydration.

In-Home Services

The In-Home Services program works with home care agencies to help older adults stay in their homes and live on their own. Services can include help with cooking meals, reminders to take your medicine, light cleaning, and shopping. It can also help with personal care, such as bathing, getting dressed, using the bathroom, and eating.

To apply, you must live in Weld County and be 60 or older.

Family Caregiver Support

The Family Caregiver Support Program helps people who take care of an older family member. We give you information, resources, and support. We can also help you find ways to take a break and get help through different programs. This care can happen in their home, your home, a care facility, or in a group setting in the community. Some options include:

  • In-Home Respite Care: Someone comes to the home to spend time with your loved one, watch over them, and help out.
  • Out-of-Home Respite Care: Your loved one stays overnight in a care center for a short time.

If you live in Weld County and care for an older adult (age 60 or older) who is considered “frail,” or if you care for someone with Alzheimer’s or a similar brain disorder, you may be able to get help from this program.

Dental, Vision and Hearing

The Dental, Vision, and Hearing Program helps people 60 and older pay for things such as exams, tooth extractions, dentures, glasses, and hearing aids.

To apply, you must live in Weld County and be 60 or older.

Chore Program

The Chore program helps older adults with chores they cannot do on their own. The program provides a set repayment for services, such as deep cleaning, yard work, snow shoveling, and moving heavy items.

The Weld Aging Well Program provides workshops and classes that support the health and independence of older adults and their caregivers by giving you tools to stay healthy and live independently.

Case Management

Catholic Charities offers specialized case management services for at-risk older adults age 60 and over to help them obtain government issued benefits, housing, and other resources, to remain safe and independent. Services may include:

Legal Services

Colorado Legal Services is a non-profit agency that provides free, high-quality civil legal services to eligible low-income Coloradans and seniors. Weld County residents age 60 and over can receive assistance with public assistance benefits, preparation of living wills and powers of attorney, landlord or rent issues, senior housing and other personal rights issues.

Peer Counseling

North Range Behavioral Health (NRBH) offers an array of an array of mental health and alcohol & drug services to help children, youth, adults, and families live a healthy and productive life. 

Counseling services help older adults cope with the emotional stresses related to aging. The service is provided in the older adult’s home by trained counselors who are also older adults.

Whether you are looking for help for yourself or a loved one or you are a professional provider or community partner who needs to refer someone to our services.

Transportation

There are many different types of transportation services available for adults aged 60 and older, all designed to help them stay independent and connected to their community.

60+ Ride

Provides free, door-to-door transportation for adults age 60 and older in Weld County. Whether you need a ride to a medical appointment, to go grocery shopping, or to attend a social event, this service is designed to help you stay connected and independent. Rides are provided by a mix of staff and volunteer drivers, and are offered 7 days a week, with scheduling generally needing to be done in advance. Call to register for services.

RideNoCo

A central information hub that helps you find transportation options in Northern Colorado, including both Weld and Larimer counties. While RideNoCo itself doesn't provide the rides, their mobility specialists can help you navigate all the available choices in the region—including public transit, volunteer services, and private companies—to find the one that best fits your needs. You can contact them for personalized support to discover the right transportation service for you.

Grandparents Raising Grandchildren

The Grandparents Raising Grandchildren program helps grandparents and older adults who are taking care of their grandchildren. The program offers support groups and classes to help with the challenges that come with raising grandchildren.

This program is for people who live in Weld County, are 55 or older, and are raising their grandchildren.
