Policy
It is the policy of Weld County CMA (WCCMA) to uphold and strictly adhere to the nondiscrimination principles and requirements as outlined in the Weld County Department of Human Services (WCDHS) Civil Rights Plan. This plan forms the cornerstone of our unwavering commitment to ensuring equity and fairness across all aspects of our operations.
In parallel, WCCMA is equally committed to fully complying with the specific, overlapping nondiscrimination requirements detailed in the Weld County Case Management Agency Contract, particularly as delineated under Exhibit G, Federal Provisions, Section 3: Nondiscrimination Under Federal and State Authority. This dual adherence guarantees that our actions and policies align with the WCDHS Civil Rights Plan and our contractual obligations, thereby reinforcing our dedication to creating an inclusive and discrimination-free environment.
The WCDHS Civil Rights Plan outlines detailed procedures for addressing and resolving incidents of discrimination, incorporating a comprehensive complaint resolution process, complaint appeal procedures, and proactive strategies for monitoring and training. These measures are integral to our mission, ensuring that we not only comply with legal and ethical standards but also embody the principles of equality and justice in our daily operations.
Furthermore, the process for investigating complaints of discrimination by our agency has received approval from the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing on September 26, 2023. This endorsement underscores our commitment to maintaining a rigorous, transparent, and effective approach to upholding civil rights and addressing any grievances that may arise, thereby ensuring accountability and continuous improvement in our service to the community.

Purpose.
As a recipient of Federal Financial Assistance, WCDHS is responsible for providing core services to assist and support Colorado's most vulnerable individuals and families so they can meet their basic needs and be treated with respect and dignity. WCDHS has a civil rights plan to ensure that all eligible individuals receive equal access to all programs, services, activities, and information. All programs are operated in a nondiscriminatory way, without regard to race, color, ethnic or national origin, ancestry, age, disability, sex, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, religion, political beliefs, creed, and public assistance status. In medical assistance programs, sex includes sex stereotypes and gender identity under any health program or activity receiving federal funds.
The civil rights plan also serves as a source of information for WCDHS staff and the public. The plan sets out the Agency's civil rights administrative policies and procedures, identifying key contacts within the Agency and linking the reader to applicable state and federal civil rights laws and resources.
